Special Educators

The Shri Ram School acknowledges the Special Educational Needs in some children and endeavors to provide support through the Special Education Needs (SEN) programme. It provides opportunities in a positive environment in which all children are encouraged to achieve their fullest potential in an atmosphere of support, equality and dignity through a broad-based and diverse curriculum, designed to meet each child's individual need.

Job Description:
At the Elementary and Junior School level (Delhi & Gurgaon)
The candidate is required to address a wide spectrum of disabilities, particularly children with autism; ADHD; hearing and speech impairment; visual impairment and learning disabilities in the age group of 4 to 11 years , in an integrated classroom.
The candidate should be able to help children transact the regular mainstream curriculum, in the regular classroom or in smaller group settings, keeping in mind the individual students' specific learning needs. The candidate is fully responsible for the development of a comprehensive Individual Educational Programme (IEP) for all students in his or her class in the areas of cognitive, social, emotional and functional development.
• At the Middle and Senior School level (Gurgaon):
The candidate is required to address a wide spectrum of disability particularly children with ADHD, hearing and speech impairment, visual impairment, slow learners and children with learning disabilities in the age group of 11 to 15 years in an integrated classroom.
Teachers will need to liaison with the mainstream teachers for partial or whole integration of students and be fully responsible for the successful transaction of the curriculum both in the regular classroom or in smaller or remedial group settings as the case may be. The candidate is fully responsible for the development of a comprehensive Individual Educational Programme (IEP) for all students in his or her class in the areas of Cognitive, Social, Emotional and Functional Development.
• NIOS (Gurgaon)
The candidate is required to be conversant with the demands of the National Open Schooling (NIOS) system and help students with ADHD, hearing and speech impairment, visual impairment, slow learners and children with learning disabilities in the age group of 15 to 18 years , transact the curriculum.
The candidate will be fully responsible for the coordination implementation of the syllabus by liaison with the teachers and in the preparation for the Board examinations. S/he is also responsible for the ongoing development programmes in the area of functional and independent living skills for these students.
•Desired profile of the candidate:
Candidate should be a graduate or post graduate in any discipline and trained as Special Educator from a recognized institution. He or she should preferably be registered with the Rehabilitation Council of India.
Enthusiastic and dynamic. The candidate should be comfortable working with students from mild to low moderate disabilities. Should be creative and innovative in teaching practices and fluent in spoken and written English.
• Pre / Vocational Training:
The candidate requires to be responsible for planning and implementing pre vocational / vocational skills for students in the age group of 15 to 18 yrs ; as well as for the development and execution of programmes in the area of functional and independent living skills.
Vocational Training: Teacher Aide Programme (TAP): This programme is designed to train young adults with disabilities to aid the teachers in pre-primary and primary schools/ classes.
The candidate should be a trained nursery or primary school teacher. Candidates with administrative background in the same will be given preference.
Pre Vocational Training: Catering and Home Science: Candidate should be trained in Food and Beverage Technology / Hotel Management from any reputed institution. The candidate, with the help of the Special Educator, will help students with mild to moderate disabilities train in the area of home science and catering.
Min Exp: 2 years preferably. Current Graduates may also apply.
